![]() ![]() All of those options are taken away in Avast One Essentials (free). In the previous Avast free, they allowed you to disable each component, or even uninstall it/not install it at all when installing. They really, really need to add an option to disable this component if it's not needed. I have "Avast Cleanup", "Avast Driver Updater", and "Avast SecureLine VPN" all disabled completely in Services, but the software updater still runs on it's own. This is a service that I personally don't want or need because I have lots of software it doesn't recognize anyways, and I don't like unnecessary components running or scanning my HDD. It's annoying and there's no way to disable this from starting up when it wants to. It keeps populating the "Software Updater" section with more and more programs that "need" updating. However:Īvast software analyzer (aswblDSAgent in task manager) cannot be prevented from running. I decided to give this a try and it's pretty sleek and it runs quite quietly in the background with very little HDD activity - mostly. Overall I think it's a big improvement from the old Avast, which I gave up on a while back. I just installed the brand new Avast One Essentials (free) last night on Windows 10.
